Questions for the Community
NEXT WEEK: New Series “Reading Over Jesus’ Shoulder”
Personal Reflection
1. What does the word “mom” stir up in you? Invite Jesus into the emotions and thoughts that come to mind. Take time to listen to him and be with him this week on this topic.
Group Discussion
1. Moms in the group, share 1 great thing about being a mom. Now share one difficult thing about being a mom.
2. Describe what “God’s mom” is. How specifically are Christians to be moms? What sets these moms apart?
3. Some of the hurts around Mother’s Day were discussed on Sunday. Which apply to you and your group? Take time to minister to one another in this.
4. How does Matt. 25:40 fit into being a mom? How about Dt. 15:7-8?
5. Discuss the 4 things mom’s lend. In what ways has that been a huge help to you? What would you add to the list?
Plan of Action
1.Take time to work through the hopes and hurts of being a mom or hoping to be a mom or having a mom.
Prayerfully consider how you might take an active role or bigger role in the crisis around mother-less kids in our community.
2. Look for the next step. Is the season a pause or harvest or planting or winter? If you don’t regularly do this, inventory your time and see how you are stewarding it. Make time for the most important items on your list.
