Questions for the Community
NEXT WEEK: 1 Timothy 2:5-7
Personal Reflection
- Do you notice any habits/patterns to your prayers? Observe what they are w/o judgement. Ask God to speak to you about this. What does it reveal about you? about your view of God? about your view of life? (ie focused on problems or solutions? focused on self or God? focused on spiritual matters or physical concerns? Don’t look for the right answer…just observe!)
Group Discussion
- Re-read the text from Sunday and your notes from the sermon. What stood out most and why?
- What motivates you to pray? What helps you pray?
- Does it matter how we pray or that we pray?
- How much freedom do the rulers around you (in government, at work, at school) allow you to worship Christ and be a witness to others about his great love? How effectively are you using these freedoms? Have you been thankful for them?
- God desires all people to be saved. Do you reflect God in this way?
Plan of Action
- Fan into flame your desire to please God by praying. Discover or rediscover helps (passages, tools, people that help you pray). Schedule time for this to remind you it is a priority.
