Questions for the Community
Personal Reflection
- What causes you to lament?
- What does your lament reveal about you?
Group Discussion
- Consider all that Micah has been writing about so far. Now in chpt. 7 he is grieving and pouring out his heart. What stands out to you about the first part of chpt. 7?
- Review all that is lost due to sin in Micah’s day. What can you learn from seeing an ancient society breakdown due to rebellion on all sides?
- Name what sin has cost our society. Do you see similarities to what Micah wrote about? What are they?
- Do you have a theology of lament? Do you allow space in your life for lament? What was stirred up on Sunday?
- Where does our hope lie for all the good that is gone? Why can we lament differently than those who aren’t “in Christ”?
Plan of Action
- Look at verse 7 (hint…it’s at the top of this page AND in your Bible). This is your plan of action. Allow the simplicity of this verse to be a model for you to follow. Consider this verse collectively (as a family, Community Group, church) and not just individually.
