Questions for the Community
Personal Reflection
1. Respond to “Sin ruins everything”. As you sit with that and ponder things…what does this sentence evoke in you?
Group Discussion
- Read the opening 3 vss of Jonah then review the rest of the story. What hope is there for wicked cities and rebellious prophets?
- Respond to “Me always affects the We”. What does this mean? How have you seen this to be true. What “societal sin” do you observe?
- How is Foster Care uniquely touched by all of these societal sins? Share how you’ve seen God move in the midst of broken families and systems involved in Foster Care.
- God cares for orphans – 7 attitudes were discussed on Sunday. Do you share these with God?
- What is your part in loving vulnerable children. What do you hope it will be one day? (Is God stirring a desire for your future self to step in to and make happen?)
Plan of Action
7. Have you been to a Foster the City Interest Meeting yet? How might you join in what your church is walking toward?
8. Set time aside to review, sit with and discuss some of the verses mentioned today. Invite God into the places that are scary and hard…meet him there and ask what he is calling you to be and do. If you and your household have steps to take… take them in faith.
