Personal Reflection

1. Think of the very start of a huge transition that happened in your life. What do you wish you were more attentive to? How can you keep in tune with current transitions God is taking you through?
2. Have you ever wanted the things you read about in the Bible but can’t seem to experience them? Confess your willingness and your uncleanness. Ask God to purify and use you.

Group Discussion

3. Pausing to put yourself in THEIR place…read Acts 1:4-11 out loud. What are they feeling, thinking, doing? What was the return trip to Jerusalem like? How does this affect YOU?
4. Review each of the 3 transitions that go on in world history during these few years the book of Acts covers. What did they mean THEN…what do they mean NOW?
5. Why is the series called “Church Activate”? What do the words and image capture about the message of Acts? What is being called to mind? What is being called to obey?
6. The book of Acts specifically will most likely be uncomfortable to study through. Start this series with an openness to the Spirit to have his way in your life. Commit to be submissive to go and be where he leads you.

7. Confess times of asking “What am I supposed to be doing?” Seek God’s bidding NOW, in this moment and respond.
8. Each week, activate (as in: do, respond, obey) whatever it is the Holy Spirit is prompting you to do or be.
