1 John 4:16 (ESV) — 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Questions for the Community

HEAD – How is God calling me to THINK differently?

1. What do you know of God’s love? How did you learn this?
2. How is “knowing and believing” (1 John 4:16) different? How do you gain both?
3. Express how you’re thankful for the gift of the Holy Spirit. How can you set your mind on the reality that God himself chooses to dwell IN us?

HEART – How is God reordering my heart’s affections – what I love? 

4. Do you have any disordered loves (see Matt. 6:24)? How do they affect your life?
5. What are you preoccupied with, that can be released and reordered to focus on Christ?
6. Share how you see God’s love in one another. Pray for each other, that the Holy Spirit shows you what real love is and how to abide in God.

HAND – What is God calling me to DO today? 

7. Pray specifically: “God, what do you have for me to do today?” Remember love is a choice.
8. What stood out to you about last week’s unified Pentecost service?
9. With your church community and/or family, pray that God would lead you (and us, the church) to step out of your comfort zone to receive and give real love.
