Questions for the Community
Personal Reflection
1. What is your problem? This was discussed at the opening. How would YOU answer that right now? What resonated from the sermon?
Group Discussion
2. Discuss the 3 adjectives common to all people. Do you agree with these? Why or why not? How do they help make sense of the life you are living?
3. Why do we love transformation stories? What is your favorite? How does Eustace Scrubb’s story move you?
4. Read Ezekiel 36:26-27 and pair it with Jesus demanding we must be born again. Think about how this contradicts religion and rebellion lifestyles. What are we to DO in this process? (see Colossians 2:13-14)
5. Look at the Easter story through the lens of these passages we looked at on Sunday. Matt. 26:27-28; Matt. 28:6; Eph. 1:7; 2 Corinthians 5:17-18. If you are not yet a follower of Jesus, seek out help understanding this directly from God through prayer or through other believers.
Plan of Action
6. A choice is before every person on the planet. Jesus simplifies it with his invitation, “follow me”. Philippians 3:9 tells us that this life in God comes ‘through faith in Christ’, it really is that simple. If you haven’t yet, choose to follow him by faith.
7. Pray a simple prayer this week centered on “He is not here for he is risen”. Let God overwhelm you with the implications of this reality.
