In Him | En Él
There is so much noise, so many voices and opinions vying for my attention each day. I don’t know about you, but I often feel weary with the firehose of information and supposed “truth” coming at me these days.
Just yesterday, I was feeling overwhelmed with the news of the day to the point where I wanted to hide under my warm, fluffy covers to find some comfort. In the quiet of my bedroom, I opened my Bible to read Ephesians. Why Ephesians? Because it’s one of the books that shouts from the mountaintop that “IN CHRIST, I have all that I need in this world and the one to come.” IN HIM I am chosen. IN HIM I am sealed with the down payment of the Holy Spirit. IN HIM I am promised a glorious inheritance, and IN HIM I have the same power living inside of me that rose Jesus from the dead. (Ephesians 1-2).
The most amazing part of it all is the work God has already done on my behalf and yours. We just need to stand “IN HIM,” and remember who’s we are. After drinking in this living water, I walked away an encouraged, hopeful traveler keeping my focus and ears open to the ONE voice who called me to be His before the beginning of time. It’s IN HIM we have riches forevermore! All other voices are silenced before such truth.
“I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance…” Ephesians 1:18
Hay tanto ruido, tantas voces y opiniones compitiendo por mi atención cada día. No sé ustedes, pero a menudo me siento cansada con la cantidad de información y la supuesta “verdad” que me llega en estos días.
Ayer mismo, me sentía abrumada con las noticias del día hasta el punto de que quería esconderme debajo de mis mantas cálidas y esponjosas para encontrar algo de consuelo. En el silencio de mi dormitorio, abrí mi Biblia para leer Efesios. ¿Por qué Efesios? Porque es uno de los libros que grita desde la cima de la montaña que “EN CRISTO” tengo todo lo que necesito en este mundo y el que está por venir. En ÉL soy elegida. En ÉL estoy sellada con las arras del Espíritu Santo. En ÉL se me ha prometido una herencia gloriosa, y En ÉL tengo el mismo poder viviendo dentro de mí que resucitó a Jesús de entre los muertos. (Efesios 1-2).
La parte más asombrosa de todo esto es el trabajo que Dios ya ha hecho en mi nombre y en el tuyo. Solo tenemos que estar “En ÉL” y recordar quiénes somos. Después de beber esta agua viva, me alejé como un viajero esperanzado y animado, manteniendo mi enfoque y mis oídos abiertos a UNA sola voz que me llamó a ser Suya antes del comienzo de los tiempos. ¡ES EN ÉL que tenemos riquezas para siempre! Todas las demás voces son silenciadas ante tal verdad.
“También le pido a Dios que les haga comprender con claridad el gran valor de la esperanza a la que han sido llamados, y de la salvación que él ha dado a los que son suyos.” Efesios 1:18
