Holy Spirit | El Espíritu Santo

A couple of weeks ago, I was learning about the trinity, and specifically, The Holy Spirit. I was learning that out of the three, The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, He is usually neglected or, not thought of as much as the others or is thought of as an it instead of a him. I had never sat down and thought about how most of the Christians I know, including me, tended to think about and refer to The Holy Spirit as a force, almost like something from Star Wars, but in reality the Holy Spirit is a He and He lives inside all of us.
In John 16:7-8, Jesus says: “Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to you advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment”
And later in verse 13, Jesus says, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth…”
I underlined all the places in this passage where Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as a him instead of an it.
After realizing this, thinking about it, and trying to set it in my mind that The Holy Spirit is a He, it has been eye opening in my time that I spend with God. I now am actively trying to be aware of the Holy Spirit inside me when I pray and am trying to think and speak about the Holy Spirit as a he instead of an it. I hope this was insightful and a new perspective and adds to your spiritual time like it has added to mine. 🙂

Hace un par de semanas estaba aprendiendo sobre la trinidad y específicamente sobre el Espíritu Santo. Estaba aprendiendo que de los tres, el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo, por lo general a El (al Espíritu Santo) lo descuidamos, no se le pone tanta atención como a los demás o se le considera como un pensamiento o idea o un algo en lugar de un él. Nunca me había sentado a pensar en cómo la mayoría de los cristianos que conozco, incluyéndome a mí, tienden a pensar y referirse al Espíritu Santo como una fuerza, casi como la fuerza de “la guerra de las galaxias” o algo así, jaja, pero en realidad el Espíritu Santo es un Él y vive dentro de todos nosotros.
En Juan 16:7-8, dice (este es Jesús hablando) “Pero les digo la verdad: Les conviene que me vaya porque, si no lo hago, el Consolador no vendrá a ustedes; en cambio, si me voy, lo enviaré a ustedes. Y, cuando él venga, convencerá al mundo de su error en cuanto al pecado, a la justicia y al juicio;”
Y más adelante, en el versículo 13, Jesús dice: “Cuando venga el Espíritu de verdad, él los guiará a toda la verdad …”
Subrayé todos los lugares en este pasaje donde Jesús se refiere al Espíritu Santo como un él en lugar de una cosa.
Para mí, después de darme cuenta de esto y pensar en ello y tratar de poner en mi mente que el Espíritu Santo es un Él, esto me ha cambiado por completo cuando paso tiempo con Dios. Ahora estoy tratando activamente de ser consciente de que el Espíritu Santo esta dentro de mí cuando oro y estoy tratando de pensar y hablar sobre el Espíritu Santo como un él en lugar de un eso. Espero que esto le haya traído un entendimiento mas claro y le de una nueva perspectiva para que sea beneficioso en su tiempo espiritual como ha sido para el mío. 🙂
